Critters who call our place home

Sweetie eating a cookie
Sweetie got the name because she loves sweet things--
especially cookies. She is one of Daisy's last year's babies
that decided to stay at our place because she
knows she has a good thing going!

UPDATE:
We think Sweetie found a mate and moved on to start
her own family.
Fall 2010
I guess she thought she could upgrade
to better housing!

What a begger!!

Oh no! You brought your brother
and sister! I don't have enough treats
to go around!!

How can I resist that face?!!
Ok, one more treat.

Oh my! Am I going to get
in trouble again?!

Bobbie's baby getting a
drink from the water tub.

Strike a pose!

You think they wouldn't resort to
these tactics--especially when we give them
plenty enough to eat!

Here's what happens when
you indulge too much!
(Bobbie--you need to go
on a diet!)

Three is definitely a crowd!!
Wait your turn!

Now they're trying to get our
attention by scratching on the window!

Boy, a good stretch feels sooo good!

Guess who's coming to dinner??
We found out who was knocking over our garbage
cans and stealing the bird feeders out of the trees!
On the night of Nov. 22nd I heard the garbage can
knocked over and had to go outside to pick up
all the garbage that was knocked out of the can.
Then at 12:55 AM on the 23rd I went outside
to scare off what I thought was the raccoons
again and ran into a bear!  I wondered how the
raccoons managed to keep tipping over this
large garbage can.  It had happened several
times in the last week during broad daylight
and I thought nothing of going outside to pick
the cans back up. I snapped this photo below
after opening the kitchen window.

Take my picture! Take my picture!

Awww---I'm so darn cute!

Hey Ma!  I think I saw something
moving in here!

What to do?!

Looks good!  I think I'll take a dip.

Bobbie investigates to see if the cat
food bowl for Kiki is on the picnic table.

Rats!! The moved the bowl!

Two of Daisy's three 2009 babies--one decided to
sit on the other that was snoozing.

Let us give thanks!

That's my knee you're sniffing!

December 24, 2008
We have had over 2 feet of snow
and it's still coming down

Our wild kitty we've named "Kiki"
It took over a year to gain his
confidence---now he crawls
into my lap to be scratched.

Mmmm!  I've got the whole bowl of food to myself!

Food!  Did somebody say food?!

You kids stay here while I sneek
over to check this fellow out.

You're already stuffed!  I don't think
you'll need any more of this chow.

Now, to get some for me and
then for Frick & Frack.

Frick & Frack (Daisy's pups)

Below are photos of Bobbie & her
kids--Hewey, Dewey & Louie

When competition is fierce ---go for the Gold!

Baby Raccoon in Vine Maple Tree

Even with one blind eye, no tail and 3 kids to take
care of, it doesn't slow Bobbie down a bit!

There's definitely a pecking order.
Bobbie has to keep the kids in line.

I think Bobbie might say "Does
my butt look big?"

Photos above of Daisy, her kids, Frick & Frack,
Bobbie, her kids, Hewey Dewey & Louie were
taken under our old shop in July of 2008

Deer playing "hide and seek" in
our neighbor's yard
(needs to work on
hiding a bit more)

This guy stopped long enough for me to take two photos
of him out our front window of our home.

Baby opossum in front of our house

The squirrels raid the bird feeders constantly!

Woodpeckers love the suet!

The raccoon in the 2 above photos (without the tail) we
nicknamed "Bob" because he was missing a tail and
blind in one eye.  We later renamed her "Bobbie"
after she showed up with a litter of 3 pups!

I must pray before my meal--you never
know who has handled the food.

Oh, my!  I think I ate too much!

This is the last time I take the daily special!
Aarrgh!

Get away from my food!

Okay---I can grin for the camera.

They need to get a shorter water bowl!

And last but not least . . .

What's Washington without a few slugs!

More photos will be added
from time to time,
so check back often.
